Support me as I walk to end Alzheimer's!
As most of you know, my Poppy is the most important person in my life (next to my Grammy, of course). Watching his progression through this disease has been awful and exhausting. What's worse is that he doesn't really know it's happening.
Seeing my Grandma have to live with him and totally change her way of life makes me want to help other people in the future. Nobody deserves this disease.
Poppy has done so much for me throughout my life and I want to help him as much as I can. He's always been there for me so I want to be there for him.
Not only had Alzheimer's affected my Poppy, but also my Grandma Barts. I realize that I am not as close to my Grandma Bartosiak as my Poppy but I have seen the struggles my Dad and Aunt Diane and, especially, my Aunt Sharon & Uncle Ron Horvath have to deal with. Alzheimer's is an awful disease. Nobody should have to struggle with not being to remember their kids' names, let alone their own names.
